The Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO) conference planning committee invites you to submit proposals for the 45th Annual Conference, Libraries Speak Up! Advocate. Collaborate. Educate., which will highlight the myriad ways we respectfully, effectively, and equitably speak up for our profession, our libraries, and our patrons through advocacy, collaboration, and education. All facets of the library community are invited to submit a presentation from public and technical services to librarians, staff, and students.
We encourage thoughtful, timely proposals on any topic related to the theme. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
All presenters are responsible for their own registration and travel costs.
One proposal form will be used for all presentation types:
Presentations will be 45 minutes in length.
Include the following:
Title: 50 word limit
Abstract: 200 word limit
Presenter Bio(s): 100 word limit
Primary audience
Keywords to describe the content
Learning outcomes (what will attendees learn in the session)

In lieu of learning outcomes, please list 3 discussion questions you plan to use during the roundtable.
Exclude the name of your institution, department, and any personal names. If you include this identifying information, your proposal may not receive further consideration.

Upon registration, attendees will be asked to review and accept a list of community agreements. Conference planners will actively strive to create spaces in which multiple perspectives can be heard and no one voice dominates.

The Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO) is a chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). ALAO exists to develop, promote, and improve library and information services in Ohio’s higher education community, to advance the interests of academic librarianship and the personnel of academic libraries, and to provide leadership and advocacy for the educational and policy concerns of the academic library community in Ohio.

Upon registration, attendees will be asked to review and accept a list of community agreements. Conference planners will actively strive to create spaces in which multiple perspectives can be heard and no one voice dominates.
