Participants will learn how to engage online learners, whatever their background. Becoming attentive to students’ concerns, challenges, and communication styles is necessary before distance librarians may introduce them to the practices of academic culture. Theories, techniques, and tools that create a positive climate for learning and research in the online classroom will be explored and demonstrated.
