Virtual ILS Forum & Mini-Conference - Friday, October 27, 2023
The morning online Forum discussion (free to attend for all) will address best practices for planning our local library ILS projects and for helping our colleagues across library departments navigate the process. The afternoon online mini-conference will feature lightning talks and thematic, audience-driven discussion sessions presented by Support, Access and Technical Services professionals.
In-Person Preconference - Thursday, November 2, 2023, Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center, Lewis Center, Ohio
Hosted by Pamela Espinosa de los Monteros and Shannon Simpson, the pre-conference workshop, Diversity in Focus: New Lenses, New Frames, New Approach, will introduce participants to appreciative inquiry as a model for organizational development and change, as well as thoughtful approaches to active allyship practices through the tenets of design justice.

In-Person Conference - Friday, November 3, 2023, Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center, Lewis Center, Ohio
The Friday in-person portion of the Conference will feature many informative and inspirational breakout sessions, posters, and lightning talks from your colleagues. The program will also include:

The 2023 Conference Keynote Presentation by Trevor Dawes, who currently serves as Vice Provost for Libraries and Museums and May Morris University Librarian at the University of Delaware, and as Vice President/President Elect of the Association of Research Libraries. Drawing upon his leadership experiences and professional background in circulation/support services, Mr. Dawes will share his reflections on the exciting professional landscape for next-generation library workers.

Presentations in a “hybrid track room” where sessions will be simulcast live online throughout the day. Each of these sessions will feature presentations by Support, Access and Technical Services professionals on a variety of topics that impact services and activities across all library departments.
Thursday Evening In-Person Social
On Thursday Nov. 2nd evening ALAO will host this year’s Conference social event at the nearby Olentangy River Brewing Company
