E-Books in Ohio: What's a Librarian to Do? will provide an opportunity for librarians to share their successes and challenges with ebooks and to discuss their questions and concerns. What ebook opportunities are on the horizon through OhioLINK? Learn about the OhioLINK-YBP ebook pilot project.  When is it necessary to strike out alone with ebook collections? Have Ohio libraries had success with patron driven acquisition of ebooks?

This event is sponsored by the ALAO Collection Management Interest Group and the OhioLINK Collection Building Task Force.
 
Registration starts: 9:00am
Program: 9:30am-3:00pm

During the morning we will have a panel presentation and discussion on the following topics:
  • ebrary Academic Collection - Jessica Grim, Oberlin S
  • ebrary to EBSCO: Declaring a Preference- Jennifer Bazeley, MiamiU
  • OSUs PDA Program - Dracine Hodges L
  • PDA, Kent’s Experience - Kay Downey L
We're going to devote the afternoon to an introduction of the eBook pilot. The pilot will be introduced by Julie Gammon and Karen Wilhoit followed by an OL-YBP presentation.

The day will end with a small-group questions and answer sessions.
