ALAO Wants You! - to run for the board!

ALAO Colleagues,

Are you looking for a leadership opportunity? Would you like to get involved in professional service for an ACRL chapter? Or, perhaps you have a colleague who would be a perfect match for ALAO. If so, please consider nominating yourself, or someone else, for the ALAO Board. Elections will take place in March and successful candidates will take office at the ALAO Board Retreat in the summer of 2015. Come join a fantastic group of Ohio librarians!

By now you might be asking, what does the ALAO Board do? Well, here’s a taste:

We strive to advance academic library services in Ohio and we provide opportunities for education and growth for library personnel. In a nutshell that means we plan spring workshops and an annual conference that focus on innovative topics and showcase Ohio academic librarians, provide scholarships and awards, and maintain 8 diverse interest groups.

What would I have to do as a Board Member?

Perform the duties described for your elected position – see the Procedure’s Manual for a list of duties
Attend the annual two-day retreat (usually in June/July of 2015; dates to be determined)
Attend 4 Board meetings per year (usually on Fridays, at OhioNET)

Treasurer

Public Relations/Outreach Coordinator

Board Member at Large (3 positions)
