Presentation Guidelines


ALAO will be providing poster displays similar to those in this picture.

  • You are responsible for registration and travel costs.
  • Do not mount poster on anything.
  • Board space is 48"x48"
  • ALAO will provide the push pins.
  • Have handouts? You can place handouts will be placed in a chair near your board.
  • Drop off posters at the registration table in the morning.
  • Posters will be in NorthPointe Ballroom 2. It has its own door or people can walk through NorthPointe Ballroom 1.
  • At noon (start of lunch), the wall between NorthPointe rooms will be opened and people can get to their posters if needed. You will not have access prior to noon.
  • We will end promptly at 2pm since a breakout session happens in that room at 2:10pm. We will announce a 10 minute warning at 1:50pm.
  • There is a new " People's Choice Poster Award" for $100 prize. It is sponsored by the Assessment Interest Group and the Research & Publications Committee.


  • You are responsible for registration and travel costs.
  • Projection will be available in each breakout room.
  • A laptop will already be hooked up and configured for the projector. Please be prepared to load your presentation to the laptop from your flash drive.
  • Presenters will be introduced by a member of the ALAO Board, representative of a sponsoring Interest Group, or a member of the Conference Planning Committee.
  • Session evaluations will be distributed in the room. Completed evaluations will be given to the speakers at the end of the session.
  • Sessions will need to end promptly to allow the next speakers to get ready.
  • A room monitor will be present to provide assistance or retrieve someone to help with issues.
  • The largest breakout rooms will have a microphone. Most rooms will not have a microphone.
  • We would like to make presentations available on the ALAO website for the next couple of years to ALAO Members Only (i.e. people must log-in to website). Please leave copy of your presentation on the laptop or the ALAO flash drive hooked to each computer. Presentations or links to your online presentation can also be emailed to Don Appleby (
