Welcome to ALAO!

We are over 600 members, representing more than 100 libraries, organizations, and businesses. We provide support, encouragement, and continuing education opportunities for academic library staff from all over Ohio through our workshops, annual conference and other programs. ALAO is the Ohio chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and is a section of the Ohio College Association (OCA).

CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
This year's theme is: "Connecting the Campus: Linking Users, Institutions, and Information."For a description of the conference theme and examples of possible topics for presentations and posters, see the "Call For Proposals." The proposal form itself is available at http://www.lib.muohio.edu/alaoprop/. Proposals are due by April 4 . Web site and more information coming soon!
New ALAO Listserv
The University of Akron has generously agreed to host ALAO's primary listserv until we can find a better solution through our new Internet Service Provider (Bluehost.com) or other resource. As always, subscribers may post announcements of interest to ALAO members such as workshops, professional development opportunities, position/job announcements, grants or funding resources, etc. The list serves as one of the three major communication venues for ALAO; along with the ALAO News Blog and the ALAO Newsletter. The Instruction Clearinghouse
Created by the OhioLINK Training Task Force and maintained by the Instruction Interest Group (IIG) of ALAO, this resource provides information on many aspects of instruction and reference services from Ohio academic libraries. Member libraries have provided variety of materials such as handouts, bibliographies and subject guides, pathfinders, tutorials, and reference/instruction department web pages in the spirit of community and cooperation.
