Located not far from the Prime Outlets Mall in Jeffersonville, Wilmington offers a variety of attractions. If you get off the interstate and make your way down US 68 into Wilmington, you will discover a charming town with attractions for many tastes. The downtown business district with its turn of the century buildings houses small shops including Books and More (the more is a gift shop and a deli). The county courthouse is worth entering for a look at its beautifully restored dome. The recently dedicated veterans' memorial at the northeast corner of the courthouse square invites quiet reflection. Wilmington College, east on Main Street, has a beautifully landscaped campus. Nature lovers can enjoy the outdoors on Rails to Trails projects which have opened two walking/bike trails, and nearby Cowan Lake State Park affords a natural getaway.
