Call for Proposals

The academic library has a long tradition of bringing the campus community together as a central meeting place.  Library staff have a proven track record of creating successful partnerships with a variety of stakeholders to enhance resources and services.  Technology has completely transformed how information is accessed and created.  The integration of our traditions with exciting developments in our profession, education and technology provides opportunities to create new connections with our users, institutions and information.

The ALAO Conference Program Committee invites you to submit proposals for presentations and poster sessions to share your experiences and ideas on making connections within and outside your campus.  Please consider sharing your practical solutions, creative approaches and exploration of this theme.  Listed below are some examples to stimulate your thoughts.

  • Presentations may take the form of contributed papers, demonstrations or panel discussions.
  • Poster session proposals may address the conference theme or may include original research and/or creative approaches to issues and challenges facing libraries.
  • To encourage support staff participation, the 2008 Conference Program Committee will sponsor a Support Staff Presenter Grant for staff members whose presentation proposals have been selected for the 34th ALAO Annual Conference.  Details on how to apply will be on the ALAO web site.
