Chad F. Boeninger

Chad F. Boeninger is the Reference & Instruction Technology Coordinator at Ohio University's Alden Library. In his role he serves as a Reference Librarian, the Business and Economics Bibliographer and the assistant web manager. He is the creator of the Biz Wiki and the Business Blog, and is the administrator of several other blogs and wikis. He has presented and written about a variety of Web 2.0 and library technology tools such as wikis, blogs, instant messaging, open source software, podcasting, gaming, and social software. He thoroughly enjoys sharing and learning with others, and in doing so is constantly striving to make the library a viable resource for years to come. Chad shares his thoughts and ideas about libraries and technology on his blog, Library Voice.

Linda S. Dobb

Linda S. Dobb is the Executive Vice President of Bowling Green State University (BGSU). Formerly the Dean of Libraries at BGSU, she has also worked at San Francisco State University, the Library of Congress, and the City College of San Francisco. A frequent writer and speaker on library issues, her most recent projects have included a book to commemorate the Jerome Library, co-written article on Kiosks, and a poster session in the Rayburn Office building of the U.S. Congress. Since 2002 she has been heavily involved with the Ohio Library Support Staff Institute and she is currently working on a Teen Center for Bowling Green.

Brian Gray

Brian Gray is the Head of Reference and the Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics Librarian at the Kelvin Smith Library of Case Western Reserve University. He teaches a workshop at Case on using RSS feeds and implemented instant messaging as a reference tool. Starting in spring of 2007, he started teaching a new workshop, Using Web 2.0 Principles to Become Librarian 2.0, for the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science. He was chosen as a participant in the 2006 American Library Association (ALA) Library 2.0 Bootcamp that was developed to explore how libraries and/or associations could use web 2.0 tools effectively. He is the current web coordinator for the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) of ALA, and has designed several blogs for them. He maintains a personal blog that covers engineering resources and web 2.0 in libraries (http://blog.case.edu/bcg8/) and coauthors several other blogs. Glen Horton

Currently residing in Cincinnati, Glen has served as the Technology Coordinator for the organization since 1999. His duties require him to have experience in a wide range of technologies. He is responsible for providing technology assistance, technology training and facilitating shared projects within the SWON Libraries membership. Before coming to SWON Libraries, Glen spent seven years in the Library Computing Services Department at Wright State University. In addition to managing the libraries 200+ PC's, he assisted in administering the libraries web, file, and card catalog servers. Glen received his B.S. in Computer Science from Wright State University. Glen's personal web site can be found at Glengage.com.

Diane K. Kovacs

Diane K. Kovacs is President of Kovacs Consulting - Internet & Web Training. She has more than fourteen years of experience as a Web teacher and Consultant. Diane has been designing and teaching Web-based MLA CE courses since 2001. She also designs and teaches Web-based courses for University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) LEEP, the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), and other organizations.

Her latest book is The Virtual Reference Handbook: Interview and Information Delivery Techniques for the Chat and E-mail Environments, Neal Schuman Publishers (2007) published concurrently in the United Kingdom by Facet Publishers (2007). The Kovacs Guide to Electronic Library Collection Development: Essential Core Subject Collections, Selection Criteria, and Guidelines, co-written with Kara L. Robinson, was published in 2004 by Neal-Schuman Publishers. Genealogical Research on Web was published in 2002. How to find Medical Information on the Internet: A Print and Online Tutorial for the Health Care Professional and Consumer (Library Solutions Press) and Building Electronic Library Collections: the Essential Guide to Selection Criteria and Core Collections (Neal-Shuman) were published in 2000.

Diane's first book The Internet Trainer's Guide was published in 1995. The Internet Trainer's Total Solution Guide was published in 1997. She also co-authored with her husband Michael Kovacs, Cybrarians Guide to Successful Internet Programs and Services which was published by Neal-Schuman in 1997.

Diane Kovacs is the 2000 recipient of the "Documents of People" award from the Government Documents Roundtable of the American Library Association (ALA). She was also the recipient of the Apple Corporation Library's Internet Citizen Award for 1992 and was the UIUC GSLIS Alumni Association's first recipient of the Leadership Award in 1996. Since 1990 she has been the editor-in-chief of the Directory of Scholarly and Professional Electronic Conferences.

Diane received an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in 1989 and a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Kent State University in 1993. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois, 1985.

Steve O. Michael

Dr. Steve O. Michael is Vice Provost with the supervisory role over diversity, undergraduate studies, international affairs and the Faculty Professional Development Center at Kent State University. He is also the administrator of Ohio Academic Leadership Academy (OALA) - an Inter-University Council program for preparing future academic administrators for Ohio’s public Universities. His administrative experience includes directorship of the Center for International and Intercultural Education and interim Associate Deanship of Education. Dr. Michael was an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow in 2000-2001 under the President of Carnegie Mellon University. He also served part of his fellowship year under the Vice-Chancellors of the City University of London and the University of Bath in England. Steve Michael is a professor of higher education administration with a specialization in higher education finance and strategic management.

Terri Pasadyn

Terri Pasadyn is the Manager of the Solon Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Previously, she was the Continuing Education Director of the Cleveland Area Metropolitan Library System (CAMLS) where she planned and developed over 60 workshops each year for all levels of staff in multi-type libraries. With a strong interest in leadership and development, she developed a successful two-track Management Education Series for library administrators and managers, partnering with Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations and a team of library directors. She has also coordinated the statewide Library Leadership Ohio Institute for the last eight years. Her other library experience include the position of Head of Reference and Instruction at the Ralph M. Besse Library of Ursuline College Library in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Terri is a certified Myers-Briggs Trainer and believes heartily in developing the whole person. She has conducted staff day presentations and community focus group sessions for CAMLS member libraries. She co-chaired the statewide Staffing Task Force for the Ohio Library Council’s Library Futures Initiative in 2003. Terri is a member of the American Library Association and the Public Library Association. She has presented at PLA, OLC and OELMA conferences and has taught Internet, database, and MBTI classes.

David Robins

Dr. Robins holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of North Texas. His research focuses on information architecture, visual explanations of complex constructs, and user interaction with information. Much of his published work concern's users' interaction, with information seeking structures. He has developed courses in information technologies, information architecture and knowledge management which integrates with real worked application. Dr. Robins has given presentations in the U.S., Mexico and Denmark.

Glenda A. Thornton

Glenda A. Thornton is the Cleveland State University Library Director and has over 30 years of professional library service. Prior to coming to Cleveland State University, Dr. Thornton served as Interim Dean/Director at Auraria Library, University of Colorado at Denver, where she previously Associate Director for Library Services. She also held professional positions in Texas and Arkansas. She serves on the Library Advisory Council (LAC) for OhioLINK, is active in American Library Association (ALAO) and Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She received her doctorate from the University of North Texas and her MLS from the University of Oklahoma. She is the reviews editor for Technical Service Quarterly and has authored and co-authored a number of articles on improving library facilities and operations, technical services, and collection management topics which have been published in Library Trends, American Libraries, Technical Services Quarterly, Serials Review, Reference Librarian, and Library Acquisitions: Practice and Theory. Dr. Thornton has also been included in Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women and is a former editor of Collection Management.
