Joe Janes picture Keynote Speaker Joe Janes

Dr. Joseph Janes is an assistant professor in the Information School, University of Washington. His research interest is reference services, especially technologies that mediate and assist, models of practice in digital reference, and the reference use of networked resources. He teaches courses in reference, online searching, research methods, statistics, and the use of Internet technologies in librarianship. Janes holds an M.L.S. and a Ph.D. in Information Transfer from Syracuse University.

Dr. Janes also is Founding Director of the Internet Public Library.

28th Annual Conference Program highlights include more than twenty programs presented by ALAO members and associated organizations (consultants, OCLC, and Innovative Interfaces) along with ALAO Interest Group meetings and times for networking and refreshments.
