Paul Jones, founder of sunsite.unc.edu and director of ibiblio.org, will present "Participatory Digital Libraries - Past and Futures; the ibiblio trends." Paul will discuss experiences and futures of contributor-run digital libraries and digital repositories with particular focus on the ibiblio trends.
The presentation will be an update to his paper "Open(source)ing the Doors for Contributor-run Digital Libraries." Communications of the ACM, Volume 44 , issue 5 (May 2001). (E-print links appear in the "Background reading" section below.)
Paul will take an innovative approach to developing his talk by using his wiki [http://www.ibiblio.org/pjones/wiki/index.php/OCLC_talk_for_May_2007]. The wiki is open to the public and anyone may add things to it. Alternatively, or in addition, interested readers are encouraged to leave comments to the post on his blog [http://ibiblio.org/pjones/wordpress/?p=2057] regarding what he might say during his talk in Dublin.
