Simone G. Polk presents

 Eracism Workshop:

This “Eracism” diversity workshop is designed to enhance the multicultural competency of professionals through education, the facilitation of “high impact” participative activities, thought-provoking discussion, reflection and taking action in the workplace environment.

Facilitation will include several interactive, participative discussion opportunities about diversity, inclusion, exclusion, racism, bigotry, and discrimination with specific emphasis on enhancing understanding, awareness, recognition and celebration of students, faculty, staff and visitors from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles and divergent points of view.

At the completion of this facilitation, participants will:

  • Recognize how they place self-imposed limits on the way they think;
  • Discover that, in many ways, people from different cultures and backgrounds hold similar values and beliefs;
  • Become more aware of their cultural viewpoints and the stereotypes they may have inadvertently learned overtime; and
  • Be aware of and respectful of the differences and similarities in students, staff, faculty and visitors in the workplace.

The goal of this diversity workshop is to get participants thinking about the “big picture” as it relates to being a part of a rich, dynamic, yet complex and diverse workplace community.
